Now open - Renga # - Valentine

-- Rules --

-TempRule- Keep it romance-oriented!

1.) One Haiku (a three-line poem where the lines have 5, 7, and 5 syllabes each - respectively)OR One Tanka (a two-line poem where each line has 7 syllables). Please count your syllables!

2.) Please NOTE me with your addition. In this NOTE, please include the segment that comes before the piece you are adding.

Also - if I get multiple submissions to come after the same piece, I'll either:

a) add a bit to fit them all together and list them in the order I got them, or

b) I'll post the first on I got and ask the other submitters to re-write their entry or

c) do what I'm doing with these first two pieces for the new renga and call for someone else to write a mesh-piece. (It's really not as complicated as it sounds.)

Please do your best to mesh your piece with those that come before it, we're aiming for a completed picture from many perspectives, as it were.

3.) The most recently updated version of the Renga can always be found at this post, which has a link in all my journal entries. The Renga will also be found in the footer of the most recent journal entry.

4.) Feel free to ask questions and be sure to have fun!

-----------------------

Caress, amore.
My red lips twitch against your
kiss, like morning mist.

drifting in from the lake
as the sun drops from view

Ah! But is it dream
To think you are still within
My withering touch?

Ah! But is it dream
To think you are still within
My withering touch?

"Whither has thine heart
gone, at what cost, hitherto
unimagined lost"

Or so a love-worn
Soul once cried to her love
Only to be answered:

Your lips caress, bloom
Full bright in our rosy dawn.
Your eyes are my sun

warming the cold night
of my winter heart

That isis/anubis thing I did doesn't follow what you're doing here. I mostly posted it to see if I could write something in this form that's halfway acceptable. I'm going to try to come up with something that goes with the thread. :)

*grin* no sweat. like i said, it's the first time i'm doin' this and i've run into a buncha people who won't even post because they can't grasp the haiku/tanga format. so mostly i'm just waitin' to see what happens.

my curiosity doth demand it. ;)

Ok, let's dump isis and replace her:

lethal distraction;
gentle sunrise, day's debut,
interrupted force.

*grin* are you a pagan? if ya don't mind me asking . . . or is egyptian mythology a hobby of yours?

--
Renga!
No, not really, but I've always found mythology fascinating. When I wrote this, the motivation was Anne Rice's tracing the origin of vampires back to Isis and Osiris. :skull:
